Wall Family Enterprise Appoints Two EdTech Leaders

ASLON is pleased to announce that Wall Family Enterprise (WFE) has appointed Valerie Schreiner and Tom Barrett to their Board of Directors. WFE is a family-owned, global portfolio of businesses with a strong market leadership position in libraries, education and learning industries.

“Valerie and Tom have the industry knowledge and expertise that will help us leverage new marketplace opportunities and drive innovative edtech solutions for our clients. We are looking forward to their contribution to our Board,” said Jim James, Chairman of the Board.

Valerie Schreiner currently serves as the Chief Product & Marketing Officer of Turnitin, the academic integrity software company. She has spent her entire career in the technology arena and has focused on education technology since she joined Elluminate 15 years ago. She has served in product and marketing leadership roles with Blackboard and Schoolzilla and as CEO of Vericite, which was purchased by Turnitin.

Tom Barrett has been serving in the role of President and CEO for the past 10 years, currently with 7SIGNAL, a cloud-based WiFi software company, and previously for Brennan Management, a family office with 56 K-12 schools. Tom also has experience serving on boards touching the education and learning technologies space, including Navigate 369/ALICE Training, Monarch Teaching Technologies and Futures Academy.
